assassins creed 2>infamous>prototype
inFamous, Prototype, or Assassins Creed?
2009-05-25 22:02Let’s have an argument, an argument between what some would consider the best RPG, free roaming, sand box games out today. Let’s start off with Sony’s exclusive, infamous.
Infamous has been talked about for some time now and is only playable for PS3 owners. So what’s so good about? Well the game offers a super hero approach, like Spiderman except without the bad game-play, and poor graphics. Infamous is set to change the poor standard of hero games before it.
You play as Cole, a character who mysteriously has electrical powers after a package he was carrying explodes and tears down the city he lives in. Gangs have taken over the city and are causing havoc to the civilians.
Cole is a very powerful character and must make decisions though out the game that affects his karma and the way pedestrians behave around him. The choices you make effects the story line and the powers which Cole has the ability possess. Good or evil, the choices you make change the way you play.
The game looks to be a great game and a review will be up on the site as soon as possible.
Prototype, another new game among the genre takes a more graphical view to the hero style of game play. You play as a mutated character called Alex Mercer in an infected New York City. The city has been split into different sections. The U.S army are struggling to control the situation and your character is neither good nor bad.
Alex has the ability to transform his body into various weapons, including mutating his arms into spikes that can cut though flesh, steel and anything. Along with that he can also consume peoples bodies, taking their identify, he is basically a shape shifter
The game looks great and offers gore, New York and The United States Army, a game with such features really has to be good. However will it be quite as good as infamous, both games offer an open world environment, but on a completely different style. Let’s move on to our last game, that being Assassins Creed 2.
Assassins Creed was to be as some might say; repetitive though the story was in my opinion good, however not great. This game is not completely new like the other two; players have already had a taste of the action form the first game, whether they liked it or not the squeal is set to raise the bar and hopefully answer some unanswered questions.
The second game is set in Italy a few hundred years ahead of the last and instead of playing Altair you play a new character called Ezio, as well as Desmond the person held captive in 2012.
So you know the details, but what game? All the games look fantastic and if you liked the previous Assassins Creed game then the squeal maybe the one for you, however both infamous and Prototype look amazing and the choice would be a hard one if you had to decide between just one.
In graphically terms, in my opinion, I would say that Assassins Creed 2 would beat the others this is based on trailers from the other games and the quality of graphics from the last Assassins Creed.
In story terms I would go for infamous mainly because of the karma system, but the story from Assassins Creed had me hooked and I’m desperate to find out what the hell happened at the end of the last game.
Then again Prototype looks awesome and the fact that you can literally tear people in two along with other abilities makes it stand out with its gore and originality.
If I had to make a choice between the 3 games, I would chose infamous, mainly due to fact it’s a PS3 exclusive that looks great, has what seems to be a great story and has a person who possesses some kick ass powers.
Feel free to comment on the choice you would make and leave a reason if you wish, I would love to hear your say.

You were supposedly talking about "best RPG, free roaming, sand box games out today"
All the games you mentioned are not RPG.
You know what's an RPG? Fallout 3 is an RPG. And it's better, longer and basically wipes the floor with these 3 games combined. It's not that these games are not good, it's only that Fallout 3 is superbly better.
But let's ignore the stupid "RPG" statement and talk general free roaming sandbox games: Red Faction Guerrilla is once again better than the 3. Why the hell would I want to climb a building like a friggin' racoon when I can simply tear down the entire building instead with proximity mines and explosives? THAT'S Sandbox.
But let's assume Red Faction doesn't exist and look at the vertical sandbox games in general: So now we have Crackdown (unless we don't consider Xbox exclusives here) who basically started the whole vertical-platforming-sandbox-comic-like games this generation, and still does a better job in the "fun" department. It has a shit story (or actually no story at all), but there's nothing more fun than hunting that next agility orb.

I was looking forward to inFamous more so than Prototype.
Finished both inFamous & Prototype within a week of each other. Playing 2nd time over as Evil Cole & Hard & without carrying the powers over with Alex.
Played 3 missions of Assassins and the repetitiveness got the better of me. I have been looking at it in my store for the last 6 months and can't seem to want to finish it.
inFamous has the best story of any video game I have played - unless you count MGS, MGS 2, 3 & 4 (and i still like inFamous story better anyway)
However I prefer Prototype. The only games better than both inFamous & Prototype in my opinion is Fallout 3.
Assassins Creed never really grabbed me because I was a HITMAN fan.

Seeing as i own infamous and i'm 2 trophies away from the platinum, i can say its a great game and i love it, I played Prototype when my friend bought it and i think out of subconscious bias for infamous i gave it a "meh" but out of the three i would choose ac2 anyday and i'm getting the black edition.

exclusivity isnt a way to name it the best game. go play prototype and infamous then say something... that being said Having played inFAMOUS and knowning how sick of a story it is and the powers and everything is just spot on. they did a really really good job on the game. think being able to climb everything like asscreed but in a setting more like GTA and you have super powers that are different based on your karma... asscreed1 was a good game with a new and dynamic story but the gameplay at times was soo repetitive. noottt so with infamous atall. that being said i think asscreed2 will be much much bettter than the first.
if you compare infamous to the original asscreed and prototype i say infamous 110% but asscreed2 has tons of potential so i'm gunna say infamous=asscreed2 and prototype could be fun but is the lesser of those two.
asscreed made me mad when it ended cause i wanted more of the story and to see what they were going to do with the crazy story. infamous shocked the hell out of me cause i wasnt sure what was gunna happen. both sequels are going to be amazing either way. but if you havent played infamous. play it.

Subject i personally would have picked assassins creed.
Replyi bet myself 100$ that EVEN BEFORE READING THIS GARBAGE, the writer would choose infamous. How did I know? BECAUSE HE WORKS FOR A PS3 WEBSITE. now to find 100$ to give to myself...

Umm, I believe all three of the games he was talking about are playable on the PS3. I hate it when people post stupid things accusing writers of being fanboys when nothing in their article supports the accusation, it's just retarded. And most times, when someone is screaming fanboy, it's because they're one too, and that goes for both sides(not a ton of Nintendo fanboys anymore, so I'm excluding them). It's a matter of opinion, moron. If you don't like it, then go to a console-neutral site and keep your comments there. Thanks.
